Hinata country’s Obi castle where Yoshihisa Shimazu, Yoshihiro Ito, Yoshisuke Ito, Yuuhei fought a fierce battle.

[Explanation]
It is a castle that is in the present Miyazaki prefecture Hinata city. In the Sengoku Era there was a fierce battle between Shimazu and Ito. The castle consisted mainly of Inner citadel, “Middle citadel”, “Highest citadel” etc. There were many dry moats. It became a castle dominated by Shimazu for a while, but then “Ito Yoshisuke” recaptured Obi Castle.

However, Shimazu’s momentum to contest the entire country in Kyushu did not stoped, Shimazu will be governed by Hinata country. After that, a child of “Iyou Yoshisuke” “Itou Yuuhei” served Toyotomi Hideyoshi aiming for the domination of whole world, served in Hideyoshi’s attack on Kyushu, Obi castle’s owner he further raised merit of war and once again by 51 Thousand Jewels.

Even in the battle of Sekigahara, unusually Ito survives becuase of the Eastern army (Tokugawa Ieyasuya) in the Daimyo of Kyushu. It became a castle that Ito rules over during the Edo period, and the Meiji Restoration is approaching. The castle was destroyed by the Waste Ordinance in the Meiji Era but in recent years “Otemon” and “Highest citadel Palace” etc. were restored.
