Ema Tokimori built the castle under the order of Takeda Shingen in order to prepare for Etchu
[Introduction of Kamioka Castle]
Kamioka Castle is a mountain castle located in Kamioka Town, Hida City, Gifu Province.
Eiroku 7 year (1564), Takeda Shingen, who planned to invade Etchu Country, ordered [Ema Tokimori] to build a castle and named Takaharasuwa Castle as the sub-castle.
Tensho 13 year (1585), after Takeda Katsuyori was destroyed, [Kanamori Nagachika] accepted Hideyoshi’s order and recover the army of Hida. His vassal [Yamada Kojyuro] became the castle owner. After Hideyoshi died, Tokugawa Ieyasu dominated the country and opened Tokugawa Shogunate. And Ganwa 1 year (1615), Kamioka Castle was destroyed by the Japanese Castle Order of Edo Shogunate, only a few stones and moats left.
Nowadays, Artificial Tenshu and Artificial castle gate is built in castle ruins, and it is a national hall and a mining material museum.
