The residence of Mr. Aihara who was defeated at Hideyoshi’s Hojo Battle.

[Description]
Omigawa Castle is a flatland-mountain castle located in Omigawa Town, Katori City, Chiba Province (Omigawa Park). The castle built year is unknown but it is said that the castle was built by [Aihara Asahide] during Kenkyu Period.

Eiroku 3 year (1560), [Masaki Tokitada] attacked Shimosa Country and Omigawa Castle was also attacked. After that, Mr. Aihara ruled the castle throughout Sengoku Era. However Tensho 18 year (1590), when Toyotomi Hideyoshi launched Hojo Battle, [Aihara Toshitane] fought as Hojo’s side.

Because of that, Me. Aihara was destroyed with Mr. Hojo. [Tokugawa Ieyasu] appointed [Matsudaira Ietada] as the castle owner and in Keicho 6 year (1601), the castle became abandoned.

After that [Doi Toshikatsu] accepted 10000 stones and established [Omigawa Jinya] near the flatland of Omigawa Castle.
[Omigawa Park] is being built on current Omigawa Castle ruins, and soil, bending wheel, soil bridge and empty moats are left.
