It was built by Nabeshima Motoshige, the son of the second clan master Nabeshima Katsushige.

[Description]
Ogi Castle is a flatland castle located in Ogi Town, Ogi City, Saga Province.
Officially it is Jinya, but it is normally called Ogi Castle.

Genwa 2 year (1616), it was built by [Nabeshima Motoshige], the son of the second clan master Nabeshima Katsushige. Motoshige was the eldest son, but not the wife’s child. Therefore, the second son [Tadanao] inherited.

Tadanao was the wife of Katsushige. Katsushige gave Motoshige 73000 stones and established Ogi Clan. After that, it was the sub-clan of Mr. Nabeshima throughout Edo Period until the end of Shogunate.

Ogi High School is built on the current Ogi Castle ruins, and stone bridge is left at the front. In addition, Sakuraoka Park is built on the garden ruins.
