Since then, the Kasai family used the castle as their major base through the Muromachi period and the Warring States period. In the Warring States period, Kasai Harutane, the head, chose Teraike Castle as his main base and destroyed Ishinomaki Castle.

In the 18th year of the Tensho period (A.D.1590), Toyotomi Hideyoshi started Hojo Conquest. The Kasai family did not attend it. For this, Hideyoshi deprived of their feudal estate and status. Now, the ruin of Ishinomaki Castle is used as Hiyoriyama Park and Kashima Shrine.
