Hojo Soun was the castle owner and it was a base for Izu Attack.

[Description]
Koukokuji Castle is a flatland-mountain castle located in Numazu City, Shizuoka Province. Chokyo 1 year (1487), Ise Shinkuro Moritoki (Hojo Soun) was given this castle as a military reward during Mr. Imagawa conflict.

After that, Soun attacked [Ashikaga Chachamaru] and moved main base to Nirayama Castle. On the other hand, Koukokuji Castle became the conflict base of Mr. Imagawa• Mr. Takeda• Mr. Hojo. Tenmon 20 year (1551), Hojo Ujiyasu attacked Suruga and took Koukokuji Castle from Imagawa Yoshimoto temporarly. But Yoshimoto recaptured it back.

Eiroku 11 year (1568), after Imagawa Yoshimoto died, Takeda Shingen and Hojo Ujiyasu started attacking Suruga, Hojo Ujimasa•Hojo Ujikuni captured [Koukokuji Castle] and [Katsura Mountain Castle]. Genki 2 year (1571), when Koso Alliances was signed, Koukokuji Castle was given to Mr. Takeda. It was ruled by Takeda Matsuyori until Tensho 10 year (1582).

After Mr. Takeda was destroyed, Suruga was ruled by Tokugawa Ieyasu, and [Matsudaira Kiyomune] was the castle owner. After that, Ieyasu moved to Kanto, and Keicho 5 year (1600), [Amano Yasukage] accepted 10000 stones and established Koukokuji Clan.

Yasukage was dissatisfied with the decision of some issues so he quit the castle owner and left. Therefore, Koukokuji Clan was replaced, and in March Keicho 12 year (1607), Koukokuji Castle became abandoned.
