Shinnone Jinya is the site of the Shrine of the Jouzai clan 10,000 stones (Hayashiya) in the present Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture. When Hayashiya takes office as “11th generation Shogun” as “Tokugawa Ienari”, the head owner “Hayashi Tadahide” comes out as a noble’s page. Tadahide gradually became a minister of the general and did consecutive jobs and at a young age became very successful, finally became a ten thousand Jewels fief, and was recognized for the first time as a daimyo.

At this time, a shrine is set up in the shellfish near the coast of Kisarazu, “Kaifuchi clan” is established. Later, in the third year of Kaei (1850), Kafuchi clan moved Jinya (Matakene Jinya) to Kisarazu’s hill and became called “Jouzai clan”. When Boshin War broke out in the latter half of the Edo period, the lord “Hayashi Tadataka” participated himself in the firing unit consisting of the former shogunate army, in order to compete with the new government forces, which is mainly Satsuma. After fighting the Boso Peninsula and North Kanto etc., they reached Sendai city and surrendered here.

In addition, “Jouzai clan” is the only clan that was renewed in the clan that exists at the end of the Tokugawa period, known as a clan who passed through the loyalty to the Tokugawa shogunate until the end.
