Toke Castle
It was lived by the Sakai family. In Hojo Conquest of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the family was besieged in Odawara Castle, so it was deprived of its feudal estate and status.

[Description]
Toke Castle used to stand in a plain in Toke Town, Midori Ward, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture.
It was built by the Toke family in the Muromachi period. The family was related to the Chiba family, which had power in Shimousa and Kazusa Province.

In the late Muromachi period, it was attacked by Sakai Sadataka of Nakano Castle, who joined the Hara family, and the Toke family was expelled.
The Sakai family ruled the Castle until the Warring States period.

Sadataka moved to Togane Castle. That means the Sakai family split into the Toke Sakai family and the Togane Sakai family. In the 7th year of the Eiroku period, in the second Battle of Konodai, the Sakai families joined Satomi Yoshihiro. They were defeated and went back to their castle.

The Hojo family attacked both castles. The Sakai families surrendered and joined the Hojo family. In the Hojo Conquest of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, they were besieged in Odawara Castle as the Hojo side. After the Hojo family surrendered, the Sakai families were deprived of their feudal estates and the status. Toke Castle was abandoned.
